Scrapbook Generation September Blog Hop - Hello Summer

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for September, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

Another Scrapbook Generation blog hop is here!

This layout is of my daughter and her best friend enjoying a day at the park by our house.  I used mostly The Pier line by Crate Paper. This is such a beautiful line of papers, it makes me wish that I would have taken more summer photos so that I could use more of it!

I am so not ready for summer to be over, but I do like that my kids are back in school and our life is scheduled again.  I complain a lot, but I actually enjoy being busy with all the kids activities, especially when I have large chunks of time to myself when I can get everything I need done during the day.  Hopefully soon I can get myself caught up enough that I can get some scrap therapy in!

For this layout I used sketch number 12 from the Scrapbook Generation sketch book One on One.  I am loving this sketchbook right now.  The sketches are all for layouts with only one photo. This is generally how I scrap, so it is working out great for me.  There are also full color photos of a layout done with each sketch.  I think the photos make it so much easier to decide which sketch I want to use and what paper line will work well.

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Next on the hop is Allie - http://magicalmesses.blogspot.com, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be draw on September 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

In case you get lost at any point, here is the list all the blogs

I can't wait to hop to all the other links listed here myself!

Here is my project

I used the November Free Sketch and the Simple Stories Awesome line.  I absolutely adore this collection.  So perfect for my little guy and his personality.

I almost completely forgot about the blog hop.  I signed up for it, then had a very, very full weekend.  I remembered when I checked my email at about 8:30 Sunday night.  So I printed out a sketch and got to work!

I don't think that I have ever completed a layout this quickly.  It took longer to stick on all the pop dots than it did to compose the layout.   Thanks to the Scrapbook Generation sketch and Simple Stories this layout was...well, Simple. (corny, I know)

Next on the hop is Sherri - http://www.sherripriest.blogspot.com/, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be draw on June 10th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

Hakuna Matata

I'm back with another NSD layout!  I created this one for a challenge over at Disney Scrappers.

The challenge was called a sketch and a song.  The sketch was this one by the amazingly talented Susan Stringfellow.

My layout is my little Marissa with Timon in Disneyworld.  She loved getting all the characters autographs.  In order to preserve them I typically scan them and them print them right out onto an element on my layout.

This was so much fun and really got my creative juices flowing.   I don't know why I don't use sketches more often!

I am hoping to get more challenges done before the May 12 deadline.

Thanks for looking!

Grandpa's Treehouse

I don't know what it is about Grandpa's treehouse. Maybe that is doesn't have railings and feels a little dangerous, maybe that it is in an actual tree.  I don't know, but it definately attracts my boy.  We have a skyfort at home, but it just isn't the same.  He can't wait to climb up into grandpa's treehouse.

I created this layout using mostly Woodland Park from October Afternoon.  I used the February sketch from Scrapbook Generation shown here

What I've been up to...

Hello everyone! (If there is anyone still there!)

I know it has been a long time since I posted.  I have still been scrapping and have a backlog of layouts to post.  The truth is, I have just been to busy (read: lazy) to post on my blog.  Life has been flying by me.  My kids are growing up and need to be run to ump-teen different sports at all hours of the day and I have actually been working out religiously and lost some weight. yay me!  So anyway, enough apologies, on with the layouts.

Here are a couple I just posted to some NSD Challenges

Life is Better at the Beach

I absolutely love this Uncharted Waters line by Glitz.  When I saw it I knew I had to have it! These photos were taken from our New Year's vacation to Great Exuma in the Bahams.  It was a beautiful island, as you can see!

 Fly and Soar

I used mostly October afternoon on this layout.  The Balloons and Sun are stamps and inks from Close to My Heart.

Thanks for checking out my blog, I promise to try to post a little more often :)
