Snow!!! Finally

This morning we finally woke up to snow. I didn't do such a great job with the picture of Canyon standing in the dirty driveway. But, if you look in the left hand corner you will see the snow.

Canyon was so excited to wear his hat and his mittens. He asked about sledding all the way to daycare. "Can we go sledding, when can we go sledding, are we going sledding, can we go sledding now, can we go sledding tonight, can we go sledding on that hill, can I ride my snowboard down the water slides?" He doesn't even have a snowboard. I'm not sure where that one came from.

Now I need to go buy him some snowboots. I bought some at the end of the winter last year. They are still 3 sizes to big for him. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Back to work for me. I need to go run some errands. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Here We Go - Halloween

Here it is, my first official blog. I thought that I would make it about Halloween since I actually remembered to take pictures this year. Well, I remembered to take pictures last year too. Sort of. I took pictures of Canyon in his Tigger costume. Who can resist a 2 year old in a super cuddly Tigger costume. I just forgot to take pictures of Marissa in her costume. I honestly don't even remember what she dressed up as last year. I know, no mom of the year award for me. Isn't that terrible? She will go through her life with no pictures of Halloween 2006. Anyway, it wasn't entirely my fault. I don't remember exactly why, but that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it.

Marissa was a pink lady this year. All of her friends were going to be pink ladies, so out we went to find her a costume. All we could find was an adult costume. The pants were ridiculously small for an adult costume, but still way to big for my skinny minnie. The pink jacket left much to be desired and the costume was $30. We decided to make one. Well, actually we decided to have Grandma make one. I never learned any of the typical house mom skills. Cooking, sewing, cleaning etc. Don't want to either. Anyway, the costume is done, ready to go and she tells me that the girls changed thier minds. Now they are all going to be football players. Oh, well, she made an awful cute pink lady.
Canyon was Superman this year. I tried to talk him into a cute fuzzy T-Rex, full body, warm costume. Nope, he wanted Superman. I guess my Halloween costume choosing days are over. They will be greatly missed.

We had to buy the Superman costume. Canyon wanted muscles on his costume. I didn't think even Grandma could make muscles. She did, however, have to take the costume in quite a bit. It said on the package fits 3-4 year olds. Maybe 3-4 year olds from Giant Land. She took in like 3 inches on the legs and the cape.

I went trick or treating with the kids for the first time in a long time. Trick or treating is a dad job. I usually get to stay home to hand out candy. We don't get any trick or treaters, so I actually stay home to scrapbook. This year I decided to go along. Canyon started out strong, jumping down steps and skidding on to the sidewalk. He ran full speed for almost an hour, then I made a mistake. I picked him up. It was all down hill from there. He wanted to be carried so he could eat his candy. We were done.
