Big Boy School

I made this die cut letter sheet with my Cricut the other day. I couldn't wait to use it. It is absolutely perfect for preschool pictures. The die cut sheet isn't attached to the background paper, I just took the picture that way to show the detail.

I used the Bo Bunny It's My Party line for this layout. I had to be careful not to use anything that said birthday on it. I think it turned out pretty cute. I also have just a little bit of Bo Bunny Grease Monkey included. The cut out sheet and the paper behind are both Bo Bunny dot.

We had a tree stump removal man come this morning and grind away 4 tree stumps from trees we cut down in our back yard. Now I get to go clean up the wood chips and start landscaping for Canyon's sky fort. Yard work is never ending!

Welcome to the Caribbean

This is a layout of The Caribbean Beach Resort in Disney World. The paper is Making Memories, the embellishments are Prima and Making Memories. The letters are from the dollar spot at Target. I cut the pink paper to look like a postage stamp and used alot of white paint. I got the title idea from Susan Stringfellow. Thanks Susan. If you haven't been to her blog, check it out. So much Disney goodness!

I did this layout 2 different ways. Originally I was going to have a very muted look and try to make the pictures really show. I whitewashed the horizontal strip of paper to fit in with my whitewash theme. Then, I decided to use red letters and added the red flowers. Now I am not sure if I should use the whitewash stips or let the color show.
I think the pictures show up better in the layout with the whitewash, but it kind of looks off balance, so I thought I would post both until I decide. ;)

BoBunny

Here are some of my favorite BoBunny layouts and a new card. I have been thinking about trying for the BoBunny design team. I know it's a long shot, but it BoBunny is one of my absolute favorites and I think these layouts are among my best and they were so much fun.

This is BoBunny Alissa. For the card I cut out the flower from the cut-outs sheet. Then I punched holes and cut out the slits around the petals. I painted the back of this piece white so that it would look better on the inside. I cut the black flower for the backing from another sheet from the Alissa line and painted the back of that white also. The back and front are sewn together down the side to form the card. I also added some pink stitching around the middle of the flower and to attach the rounded rectangle to the card. The thank you sentiment is also a cutout. I love making these distressed flowers. I inked them up black after I scrunched them up. The brad is painted black and has glossy accents on it.

This is my sister's daughter Ivy. Isn't she cute. This is also BoBunny Alissa.

Canyon at bring your parents to preschool day. One of my fav layouts and one of my favorite lines, Grease Monkey. White paint is my new best friend.

My little guy enjoying the park on a fall day. I love these swirls from the U Bug Me line. I just cut them out and manipulated them over each other until I liked what I saw.

Mojo

I seem to have lost my scrappin' mojo. I keep looking at my table and...I've got nothin'. My pile of new stuff isn't even inspiring me. It's sad, it's pathetic. I've had plenty of time, I just haven't done anything.
Sorry, I've been neglecting my blog, I just have nothing to show you. I currently have pictures, papers and embellishments spread all over my table. Hopefully I can kick myself in the butt and enjoy some scrapping time this afternoon.

Cozumel mini album

This mini album was a class at The Playground this week. I turned it into a Cozumel album for my husband's desk at work.

my feet. His favorite spot was the bar by the ocean, but I didn't get any good pics of it.

Twilight

Ok, so we aren't exactly the age group that the books were written for. HeHe. A group of us obsessed Twilight readers created layouts to be displayed at The Playground.
Seriously, I love the book series. I read it twice and wish there were more.

Here is my layout. The layout idea with the torn paper and the laced look came from the blog of the amazingly talented Gabrielle Pollacco. When I saw her original layout it just screamed Twilight at me! :)
After I took the picture I added some red bling to the dots on the i's and below the quote on the journaling circle. I think the bling added alot to the layout, but I can't retake the picture because I already dropped the layout off at The Playground. If you are local make sure you make a stop at The Playground and check out the rest of the Twilight layouts. They are all so unbelievably different, and all great!

I found this quote which kind of mirrors the way that I felt about the book series. When I went to print on the circle the paper moved, so it isn't centered the way I wanted, but I only had one shot.
Great idea on the stitching by Gabriella. On my layout I tried to make it look more like vampire wear. :D

It took me forever to find the right font. There are many sites out there that say they have the Twilight font, believe me, I downloaded most of them. I will try to find the site where I downloaded the correct one and add a link to it. The font itself is called Twilight. I printed it mirror image on the back of this silver paper I got at The Playground then cut it out by hand. What a pain!

I feel like such a nerd posting a layout about my obsession with a book series geared for a high school girl. My husband also informed me that I was a nerd. But at least I am in good company. hehe.

A little vacation

I love vacations, but if always feels so great to be home again. We drove over 1700 miles this vacation. I don't like riding in the car. I always want to fly, but my husband, pretending to be thrifty insisted that we drive this trip.
About 2 weeks ago Marissa went home with her grandfather. He lives in Isle Minnesota, which is about 100 miles north of the cities on Lake Millie Lachs (think that is spelled right). So we went to pick her up.
I am not an outdoorsy girl at all. Several comparisons were made between Eva Gabor from Green Acres and myself while we were in Isle. Oh my goodness..bugs. Yes, I knew there would be bugs in Minnesota, especially at a lake house. I just had no idea how many there would be. It was unbelievable. Luckily it wasn't hot, I don't think I could have done hot and bugs.

The kids loved it there. They have 85 acres of Minnesota forest. It was almost impossible to get Canyon off the 4-wheelers unless we were going to the beach. I believe that the lake is the biggest in Minnesota of course not counting the great lakes, but don't quote me on that. It was huge, looked like ocean from some views.

Here's the really bad part... ticks! Canyon had a tick, Marissa had a tick, and JT had several ticks. Not to mention the ones that were found crawling on our clothes and not stuck into us. I didn't have any, good thing, I may have had a breakdown. JT got a huge one in the back of his leg that he had to remove by himself in the mirror as I was having a panic attack and trying not to throw up in the bathroom sink. I know its ridiculous, but its me.
I did find a nice little local scrapbook shop in Isle. Surprising since the population is 700. It was a nice little shop and I did come away with a couple cute mini book ideas.

We went from there into the cities for 4 days, much more my speed. We stayed at the Radisson Water Park of America next to the Mall of America.
We bought wrist bands to the amusement park in the mall and the aquarium at the mall. We all had fun. Canyon tried everything he was tall enough for, including a medium sized roller coaster.
We can't forget the Lego store either, or how much of my money they got!

We also went to the Minnesota Zoo and the Children's Museum. Both were great. The water park was great also. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures toward the end of the trip. I filled up my memory card. I wish I would have just bought a new one.
Next to the zoo is a huge IMAX theatre. We saw Transformers 2 there. There was so much action on that huge screen it was hard to take it all in, but it was great. Canyon loved it!

We drove from Minneapolis to Albert Lea Minnesota to visit JT's aunt and his grandma. JT's grandma is in a nursing home. She will be 102 this August.

JT's Aunt and Uncle are amazing people. So interesting to talk to. Jim is director of operations at the airport, along with owing most of the planes there. We got to walk thru the hangers and look at all the planes, including a helicopter and a water plane. We stood on the runway while 3 planes took off and one landed, it was sooo cool. JT's uncle holds several aviation records and there house is like a museum. They once flew a single engine Cessna from Albert Lea to Antarctica and back making a stop at every single country in South America along the way. Among his other hobbies are skydiving, mountain climbing and running marathons. I love just sitting back and listening to the stories they can tell.

We got home last night, If I was clothes all day today and tomorrow maybe I can catch up! :)

I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!!
